River Asset Management Company is a real estate investment and management company founded in 1988. Since its inception, River Asset has emphasized its principals’ involvement in the acquisition and management process. Utilizing this organizational philosophy, River Asset has acquired and managed over 3,500 apartment units from Texas to Maryland.
Chairman and Founder
Bill Gordon graduated from the University of Virginia and the University of Georgia School of Law. Following a brief stint as a practicing attorney, Mr. Gordon spent 10 years in trust banking and wealth management firms in Atlanta, Georgia. During that time he worked with real estate investment sponsors on behalf of his firms’ clients and developed an expertise in the analysis and structuring of real estate investments with a special emphasis on multifamily rental housing. In 1988, Mr. Gordon founded River Asset Management and has been instrumental in its growth as a real estate investment and management firm. In his current capacity, he provides the firm with strategic acquisition and asset management leadership.
Will Gordon received his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia. He then spent several years in Washington, DC where he first worked for an appraisal firm and then served as an analyst at the mortgage banking firm of Walker & Dunlop. Since joining River Asset, Will has assumed primary responsibility for day-to-day property management oversight as well as the development of acquisition strategies in a challenging capital markets environment.
Mr. Gordon graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining River Asset, he worked at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers (now Barings), the real estate private equity subsidiary of MassMutual. Robert was involved in all areas of the acquisition process on behalf of Cornerstone’s institutional investors. Previously, Robert joined Eastdil Secured, the real estate investment banking subsidiary of Wells Fargo. Here, he focused on all elements of the capital stack, ranging from A/B note structures to joint venture equity underwritings. Before moving into investment banking, Robert joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s (BAML) Commercial Real Estate Banking group where he underwrote debt instruments for middle-market real estate operators and developers. At River Asset, Rob is focused on acquisition, asset management, and property management.
